Text includes: 'Because the aim of the Post Office reorganisation is profit before service you will be paying more for fewer services - especially if you live outside major city centre or in a rural area', 'Directory services, pay phones and special services for blind, deaf and disabled people will be at risk' and 'A telephone in our home is a necessity not a luxury'. the text at the bottom of the poster states: '...did you know they're on the line?'. The poster was designed by the Wellington Media Collective for the New Zealand Post Office Inc. There is also a logo 'Save Our Post Office'.

Sticker on rear of poster states 'This poster is on long term loan to TUEA from Therese O'Connell. The poster has been laminated with a grant made available by the Ministry of Women's Affairs.'
